Visions in Clay ~ Rhonda Bates and Wes Lassiter

Potters, artists and companions in life Rhonda Bates and Wes Lassiter will share their love of clay in an intensive immersion into the world of creating works in clay. The workshop will be designed for those who have curiosity about working and clay and want to come away with techniques and ideas that will freshen ones approach towards creativity in clay and life.

Rhonda Bates has been making objects in clay for 22 years and is a graduate of the Corcran School of Art and Design. Although her degree is in painting she was led to clay for her love of art and creating new and fresh ideas.

Rhonda's husband Wes Lassiter came to clay ten years ago when he met her on Ocracoke Island. Together they atteneded many workshops and now own and operate the largest and most traditional pottery in Eastern North Carolina Red Drum Pottery located on Hatteras Island in Frisco.

The workshop will include techniques in Handbuilding, sculpture, wheel turning, decorating
glazing and firing pots in Electric and Raku Kilns. Wes and honda are excited
about sharing the world of clay and its infinite possibilities with you in hopes that your creative juices will be overflowing.
